What is a residential proxy?

A residential proxy is an internet connection routed through a real home broadband IP — the same IP a normal user has when browsing from their living room. The opposite of a datacenter proxy.

Why residential matters for LinkedIn

LinkedIn maintains an IP reputation database. Datacenter and VPN IPs are flagged because legitimate users almost never log in from them. A residential IP looks like every other user logging in from home.

Quality variance

Not all residential proxies are equal. Rotating residential pools share IPs across thousands of customers — the IP might have been used to spam Instagram an hour before LinkedIn sees it. Dedicated home IPs (one IP, one customer) are dramatically safer.

How Infonet does it

Infonet ships InfoProxy — a dedicated home IP per LinkedIn profile, owned and operated, never rotated, never shared. See InfoProxy.
